According to a report by the Population, Border and Migrant Affairs Commission of Mexico City, over 90,000 children have been deported without a parent or guardian in the first 7 months of this year and for every three adults deported, one child is left behind.
This is fucked up.

This is heart-breaking. What about family values?
Is it just me, or have there been A LOT of these stories lately? This combined with the people getting deported based on hospital records is really upsetting me.
I understand not wanting to promote illegal immigration, but can't there be a middle ground?!
habladora, i know, it doesn't make any sense. writing this post almost made me cry.
frau, yeah, what about honoring basic human rights?
This is child abuse. To put children in a position where they do not have adult supervision by a legal guardian or parent is reckless endangerment and child abuse.
This is not a close call.

you're all right. this isn't an issue of policy or family values, it's an issue of the love of power regardless of who is hurt in the process.
one of my friends recently went through this. her mother was deported and she was left to care for her little brother. i can't even begin to imagine the pain she experienced.
